Giving Back to the local community is the heart and soul of my business.  I like to concentrate on local causes where I feel we can make a real impact.

I am honored and thrilled to support Home of the Sparrow, located in Exton.  Home of the Sparrow partners with women facing homelessness to secure housing, achieve long-term stability, and chart new paths for their futures.

EVERY SALE MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Every time I sell a home, a portion of the commission earned on the sale or lease is donated directly to Home of the Sparrow. My clients not only benefit from a boutique style, individualized customer sales experience, they share in the awareness this local charity dedicated to end homelessness for Women and Children in Chester County benefit as well, through the Homes for Homes campaign.

A SUPPORT SYSTEM CHANGES EVERYTHING

Every year, single women, mothers and older women in Chester County lose their homes despite working full-time. How that is possible? To afford a modest 1-bedroom apartment with a minimum-wage income, a Chester County resident must work 81 hours a week. For single women with a lower income and no big support system, it can be incredibly difficult to pay rent, care for their children and save for emergencies. With nothing to fall back on, a divorce or unexpected events such as an accident, loss of employment or a sick child can cause homelessness in less than 30 days.

A SAFE PLACE TO LIVE MAKES THE FUTURE BRIGHTER

Last year, 451 women and 252 children stayed in Chester County’s Emergency Shelters. Homelessness is a very traumatic experience, having a severe negative impact on a child’s health and opportunities in life. At Home of the Sparrow, we believe that no woman or child should ever experience the trauma of homelessness in Chester County.

EMPOWERING FAMILIES TO THRIVE

Founded in 1994 as a 501(c)(e) nonprofit, we have become a trusted community partner. We receive 1600 calls for help annually and in 2016/17, we helped 549 women and children to prevent homelessness in our community. Based on 23 years of experience, we have a holistic strategy to help single women and mothers in danger of losing their homes. We prevent evictions in times of crisis and partner with our program participants to become self-sufficient and build better futures for themselves and their children.

TRANSFORMING LIVES HOME BY HOME

The cost of prevention is extremely low compared to the cost of homelessness emergency services. With as little as $500, we could prevent a family from losing their home. With $4,500, we could support a single mother and her family for 9 months through our Supportive Housing Program, while she acquires the skills and resources she needs to become self-sufficient.

Your support to Home of the Sparrow can transform lives in Chester County.
